About Us
The Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows, Inc. was founded
in 1948 as a means to improve the quality of county fairs and the programs
they offer to their communities by giving those organizers a means to learn,
cooperate and promote their events. Kentucky's county fairs are organized
by unpaid volunteers, almost without exception.
The association provides an avenue for fair organizers to learn about evolving programs from other areas and to form a collective voice for the betterment of their community events. The results have included organization of statewide high points programs to encourage everything from horse shows to demolition derbies; statewide pageants for participants of almost every age; and a focal point for fairs, horse shows, festivals, suppliers and their supporters.
The KAFHS is dedicated to the continued growth of county fairs and the programs that both make them successful and offer entertainment and education to the communities they serve.
